Infantry Battalion (Yonif) 612/Manuntung Central Hulu Sungai underwent urine
test to ensure that all were free of drug use.
Head of Prevention and Combating Illicit Narcotics Abuse
(P4GN) of the South Kalimantan's National Narcotics Agency (BNN) H Ipansyah
here on Thursday said the urine tests conducted at the same time in order to
the military anti-drug counseling.
Previously, BNN conducted counseling at the headquarters of
Battalion Yonif 621 Manuntung in the village in Batali in hope all soldiers
later became an agent capable of spreading information about the dangers of
drugs.
Event Coordinator, First Lt. Inf Wahyono said soldiers need
to understand the types of drugs and danger.
"We hope that with education about the dangers of
narcotics and illegal drugs from the South Kalimantan National Narcotics
Agency, soldiers are able to understand about various things related to
drugs," he said.
This, he added, addressing instructions from the central
leadership in the hope the soldiers know the dangers of drugs so that they are
not easily persuaded to use drugs and could help the government fight abuse in
the community.
"With this socialization , we expected to detect early
, and also to prevent drug trafficking in their respective environments,"
he said.
South Kalimantan is one area judged to be a potential
marketing for drug trafficking and other illicit drugs.
