Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan ( Antaranews) - South Kalimantan Governor H Rudy Ariffin reveals, the number of poor people in his province in 2013 decreased compared to 2012.

He expresses it by citing data from the South Kalimantan Central Statistics Agency (BPS) in the provincial DPRD plenary session led by its chairman Colonel (Ret.) Nasib Alamsyah here on Monday.

"Based on the BPS's record until March 2013, the poor in our area decreased 7,475 people, equivalent to 3.95 percent, from 189,214 people or 5.01 per cent in 2012 to 4.77 per cent or 181,739 people in 2013," he said.

Progress in reducing the number of poor people, according to the number one person in the provincial government was, of course, develop confidence to achieve macro performance indicators of poverty by 4.25 percent in 2015.

"The reduction in poverty was also followed by a decrease in the unemployment rate , " he said when delivering Report on Accountability (LKPj) of Regional Head of South Kalimantan for fiscal year 2013.

" The level of unemployment in South Kalimantan decreased significantly, from 4.32 percent in 2012 to 3.91 percent in 2013," he continued.

In his accountability report, the two periods Governor also revealed health development in the province which now has a population of approximately 4.2 million people.

According to him, the construction of health also showed encouraging results, especially in the measure of eight health performance goals, which include increasing the empowerment and health promotion.

Health and nutritional status of the community was rising, increasing in effort and quality of health services, morbidity due to infectious diseases reduced, and the increase in quality of the environment healthier.

Increased in the availability of pharmaceutical, medical devices, drugs and foods that meet standard and affordable by the community, the requirement for strategic health workers.

Then the increased provision of public budgets for health in order to reduce the risk of financial due to health problems for all citizens, especially the poor.

He said the eight goals of the health performance, for the average South Kalimantan accomplishments more than 96 percent.

"The success of the eight health performance targets , increasing the percentage of the active standby village, maternal mortality declined from the target 91 cases to 90 cases," he said.

In addition , coverage of midwife assisted births increased 88 percent much of the same target it reached 90 percent," said the founder of the Nursery Academy Martapura, Banjar District, which has now turned into the Midwifery Academy.

Similarly, the number of accredited hospitals gain exceeds the target, from 70 percent realized 73.3 percent , and the prevalence of infectious diseases fell from 300 to 210 per 100.000 population.

Similar state of health numbers DHF ( dengue fever) fell from 61.0 to 33.8/100,000 population, the percentage of village midwives who have been over 90 percent, and health centers (Puskesmas) have also increased the scope of the doctor 90 percent , according to Rudy Ariffin.
